IMPRESSION
AND PRICING EXPLAINED |
When
a surfer visits a website and downloads a page featuring a banner ad, that generates
what is called a "Page View" or "Impression."
"Page View"
or "Impression is different from Click-Through Percent (CTP) that
measures how well banners are performing on a website. For instance, if a banner
had 200 impressions and 4 click-throughs (Four different people clicked on a banner
and were sent to the webpage linked to the banner (advertiser's website), the
CTP is 2%. A banner with a 1% CTP is considered acceptable. CTPs of over 3% are
good. A banner with CTP below 0.5% should be changed.
Click-Through Percent
(CTP) is similar to Click Per Thousand (CPM) - the "M" standing
for the Ancient Roman language letter meaning "thousand". | Most of Africabiz
Online pricing is based on "impressions", meaning the number of times
a visitor sees an advertiser's ads - by lumps of 1,000. For instance 2,500 impressions would cost
US$ 50 (That is 2 cents for each impression - a competitive price whatever
may be CTP or CPM). Main
posting pages are listed here |
Visitors represent sequence
of requests made by one user at the same website.
Hits
stands for the number of times a webserver has been requested for a webpage or
a graphic image by an unique visitor. If graphic images are linked to a webpage
(which is 95% the case in Africabiz Online) the number of "hits" is a clear indication
of a website popularity. |
