WORD FROM THE EDITOR

Dear visitor and international investor,

- THE ONE BELT ONE ROAD (OBOR) INITIATIVE IS A MASTERSTROKE BY CHINA
China's One Belt One Road initiative, is a huge geostrategic game changer masterstroke that would make China the ultimate diplomatic and economic player at world stage.
Japan and India are not happy about that and are planning for an alternative for China's
OBOR. They would, however, have a lot of catch-up to do finding the financing and transfer channels that China already have put in place.
The European Union is also worried that China's OBOR may have a "destructive" action first on the stability and cohesion of the Union - as Union members are in contact with Chinese authorities without the approval of the Commission; and second they are utterly worried that the OBOR is a formidable stepstone for China predominance in world affairs.
As for the United States of America, it is searching for ways and means to derail the Chinese initiative trying to rally some pacific ring countries to not adhere to the project. One can read the fuss about the South China Sea controversy as such an attempt.
In the contrary, developing countries in Africa, Asia and South America are not so concerned by the probable hegemony of China in world affairs because they know the OBOR would have a tremendous impact on their economic development.
Therefore, the rulers of these willing to cooperate nations attended en masse the OBOR summit hosted by Beijing on May 14-15, 2017.
And a sober observer of the world political stage would agree the summit cements the death of the unipolar power system that ruled the world since at least five centuries. [1, 2]
Indeed, this OBOR concept represents the true Globalization that would economically benefit any nation involved.
It is a complete different undertaking compared to the quasi-defunct Trans Pacific Partnership - TPP; and its Atlantic leg, the Trans Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership - TTIP, devised by the United States of America's corporations and lobby groups that would benefit the elite and not the workers of countries involved.
As shown on the OBOR map available at this link, the landing place of the OBOR on the African continent is the Republic of Kenya.
From there one can imagine/oversee the immense infrastructure opportunities
that would derive from the initiative: highways linking African countries, bridges, hospitals, universities campuses. Etc.
It is now up to African rulers to devise schemes and plans to take advantage from this formidable China initiative.
For instance, African leaders and all regional African organizations should work together to support the TRANSAQUA project which aims at giving a new life to lake Chad to recover its original basin/geographical coverage area.
The video stream below describes TRANSAQUA. A formidable project that would boost Africa's development. African leaders should do anything possible to speed up its implementation - in spite of environmental concerns raised by people in the West ready to sabotage the project.
Doubtless, the OBOR is really the key to sustain the fight against poverty worldwide - creating jobs by the millions. The OBOR initiative makes the bombast of some western rulers of the 1980's, There Is No Alternative, definitely irrelevant.
